The works of the danish photographer Joakim Eskildsen integrated in his comprehensive documentary book project about Roma life, history and situation in seven countries will be presented in Landskrona Konsthall (Sweden) from 21. May - 21. August 2011.
During 2000-2006 Eskildsen traveled with writer Cia Rinne from Finland, France, India, Romania, Russia, Greece and Hungary to meet and live with the Roma. Eskildsen images provide a rare glimpse into one of the many unknown lives.
Joakim Eskildsen was born in 1971 in Denmark but lives and works today in Berlin. He studied photography at University of Industrial Arts in Helsinki 1994 - 1998. Eskildsen work has been exhibited in several solo exhibitions around the world and he often collaborates with writer Cia Rinne. Many of his photo project has also been published in book form.
