Tuovi Hippeläinen, Dean, Photography Department, Aalto University, School of Department of Media It brings together Photography, Graphic Design and Media Lab Helsinki. In the degree programmes of photography there are about 100 students working towards their degrees and also a sizeable group of students enrolled in secondary subject and international exchange programmes. The objective of the degree programme in photography is to establish and advance an understanding of photography as an independent part of the visual arts and visual communications media. The degree programme emphasises the artistic, documentary and audio-visual fields of photography, and lays a foundation for critical study of the history and aesthetics of photography. |
